And I cannot believe that, if there is a God, he/she/it wants to be *worshipped* all the freakin' time. Again, as you say, that is such a human desire; surely God would be above all that? Anyway, I wish next time you go on one of your digital music downloading jags you would get Randy Newman's "Faust." His definition of religion is "the invention of an animal that knows its going to die." Sums it up pretty well, I think.Jeanhttp://www.wodehouse.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4895687241085948761.post-37808237370335966992011-03-24T16:47:13.521-04:002011-03-24T16:47:13.521-04:00I don't think last words really matter. About an hour before she passed, she was in and out of consciousness, and I asked her once "Do you know who's here with you?" I wanted her to know her family was there. Her characteristically flip response was "Haven't got a clue." Far as I'm concerned, those were her last words.

By the way, I'd like to think Heaven is a lot like Duck Soup, with friends all around you and antiques all the way through the back.Tom Fieldnoreply@blogger.com
